“He taught them by telling many stories in the form of parables“—Mark 4:2 (NLT)
God’s signals are like the parables that Jesus told. Those who received and responded appropriately to Jesus’ parables were given more understanding into God’s secrets. Those who rejected Jesus’ messages lost their abilities to understand Him at all. They found themselves walking in darkness. That is still true today.
“Then the disciples came to Him and asked, ‘Why do You speak to the crowds in parables?’ Jesus replied to them, ‘To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted. For whoever has [spiritual wisdom because he is receptive to God’s word], to him more will be given, and he will be richly and abundantly supplied; but whoever does not have [spiritual wisdom because he has devalued God’s word], even what he has will be taken away from him. This is the reason I speak to the crowds in parables: because while [having the power of] seeing they do not see, and while [having the power of] hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand and grasp [spiritual things].’”—Matthew 13:10-13 (AMP)
When we respond to God’s signals appropriately, we discover solutions and benefits that we may have never experienced before… . Maybe we never even knew they were possible before! We also begin to live in harmony with the principles of life that God established before the world was even formed. We experience life in more of its fullness. We have greater peace, harmony, contentment, fulfillment, hope, love, and faith. We receive even more understanding of life and what it is all about. And we are given more understanding into the ways and the nature of God.
When we reject God’s signals in life and choose to go our own ways, the light of God’s truth no longer illumines our path, and we walk through life in darkness, never understanding why we have so many problems, and never finding lasting solutions for those problems.
“But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness, and they do not know what they are stumbling over.”—Proverbs 4:19 (ISV)
Many people struggle with the same problems for years, sometimes never finding solutions and maybe even convincing themselves that there are no cures for what ails them. They may resign themselves to just “coping” with their problems and trying to deal with them as best they can.
But a life of crippling problems is not the “abundant” life that Jesus came to give us.
Counterfeit “Solutions”
When we have problems, our best response is to turn to God and seek Him for answers to our problems. He promised that anyone who seeks Him will find the answers they are searching for.
“Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you. For **everyone **who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened.”—Matthew 7:7-8 (AMPC)
God designed for us to turn to His Word (the Bible) to search for answers, but the devil, the world, and many influences are also standing by to provide shortcuts and easy counterfeits for God’s solutions. These counterfeits, whether they come in the forms of drugs, alcohol, music, work, entertainment, immorality, shopping, food, or something else, they never offer satisfying solutions in the long term, because they can’t. They only offer short-term pleasure or relief, but they always come with negative side effects that can often be very destructive. These counterfeits offer treatments, at best, rather than cures.
This is just one example:
Many Americans who need to be cured of cancer turn to the medical establishment that is endorsed by the American Medical Association and the American Cancer Society.
But the American Cancer Society has no interest in finding a cure for cancer.
Cures for cancer have already been discovered. They were discovered years ago. There are several proven, relatively inexpensive cures for cancer that are already available, but that would defeat the primary goal of the American Cancer Society, which is to protect and promote the highly profitable cancer treatment industry. And so those cures for cancer are bought out, buried, or forced out of the country by the American Medical Association, which is the main organization charged with protecting the interests of the medical industry.
I have personally listened to several testimonies of people who were completely cured of cancer through the Gerson Therapy without expensive surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation. Malignant, cancerous brain tumors have also been cured for decades by Dr. Stanislaw R. Burzynski. In response to his remarkable success in curing people of malignant tumors without conventional, costly treatments, Dr. Burzynski was persecuted by the Food and Drug Administration through seemingly never-ending lawsuits. He was sued for hundreds of thousands of dollars amidst efforts to have his medical license revoked in an unrelenting campaign to shut him down. Dr. Max Gerson was simply murdered.
In their own mission statement, the American Cancer Society states that their focus is on treating cancer, not curing cancer. In fact, their mission seems to be saying that their goal is for *everyone *to experience cancer treatment. Read it for yourself. This is the mission statement of this highly lucrative industry:
“The mission of the American Cancer Society is to improve the lives of people with cancer and their families through advocacy, research, and patient support, to ensure everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.”
Their definition of a “cancer survivor” is not what you might think. It has nothing to do with being cured of cancer:
“The American Cancer Society describes anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer as a cancer survivor, regardless of whether they are actively receiving treatment.”
Basically, if you are, or have ever been, a candidate for cancer treatment, you are a “survivor,” according to their bizarre definition.
You will never see the American Cancer Society actively engaged in efforts to cure cancer. They have no intention of putting themselves out of business.
This is the stated goal of their research:
“We’ve invested more than $5 billion in cancer research since 1946, all to find more – and better – treatments, uncover factors that may cause cancer, and improve cancer patients’ quality of life.”
In their own words, posted on the home page of their website, their research is designed to lead them to better treatments, not to *cures. *
“Our research leads to treatments that improve lives.”
Treatments are highly profitable. Cures are not. Why would they want to put themselves out of business by developing an affordable cure for cancer? One of the unstated goals of the medical/pharmaceutical industry is to make you a customer for life in order to maximize profits for their industry.
The cancer treatment industry is a very lucrative industry that makes its money from treating, not curing cancer. The goal is to prolong the expensive treatments without providing relatively inexpensive cures that would undermine the interests of the industry.
Is the cancer treatment industry evil? You might say that in light of the fact that it puts profit ahead of the interests of the patients.
“For the love of money is the root of all evil”—1 Timothy 6:10 (KJV)
At the same time, there are many wonderful medical professionals who are not motivated by money. They are driven to save lives, and they work tirelessly on behalf of their patients. Likewise, there have been many, many lives saved as a direct result of remarkable medications and treatments. But these medications and medical professionals are also being used by the medical/pharmaceutical industry to further the primary profit-making goal of an industry that seems to be walking in darkness and focused on offering temporary treatments, rather than permanent cures.
Jesus offers something much better! Our Creator offers the best solutions for us because He knows us better than we know ourselves!
This is the contrast between God and the counterfeits. Jesus heals. The American Cancer Society sells treatments. God offers solutions. The counterfeits only offer temporary relief or pleasure that only temporarily addresses symptoms, and leaves you with negative side-effects that are often quite harmful.
This is what Jesus experienced in His day when the woman with the issue of blood had spent all she had on doctors and yet experienced no improvement in her condition.
“A woman [in the crowd] had [suffered from] a hemorrhage for twelve years, and **had endured much [suffering] at the hands of many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was not helped at all, but instead had become worse. **
**“**She had heard [reports] about Jesus, and she came up behind Him in the crowd and touched His outer robe. For she thought, ‘If I just touch His clothing, I will get well.’ Immediately her flow of blood was dried up; and she felt in her body [and knew without any doubt] that she was healed of her suffering.
**“**Immediately Jesus, recognizing in Himself that power had gone out from Him, turned around in the crowd and asked, ‘Who touched My clothes?’
“His disciples said to Him, ‘You see the crowd pressing in around You [from all sides], and You ask, “Who touched Me?”’
“Still He kept looking around to see the woman who had done it. And the woman, though she was afraid and trembling, aware of what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. Then He said to her, ‘Daughter, your faith [your personal trust and confidence in Me] has restored you to health; go in peace and be [permanently] healed from your suffering.’”—Mark 5:25-34 AMP
Jesus offers us permanent solutions for our problems. Others offer costly temporary treatments that often come with harmful side effects.
God is greater than all of your problems. There is no problem for which God does not have a solution!
