Human Trafficking in the Church — Part 27
Recognizing the Six Characteristics of the Religious Spirit of Babylon
They said, “Come, let us build a city for ourselves, and a tower whose top will reach into the heavens, and let us make a [famous] name for ourselves, so that we will not be scattered [into separate groups] and be dispersed over the surface of the entire earth [as the Lord instructed].”—Genesis 11:4 (AMP)

The Greatest Opportunity of This Century
We may be at the threshold of the greatest opportunity the Church has ever seen! Often, when there is an intense, unjust, oppressive attack against a person or a group of people, it is because God has a very significant purpose that He intends to accomplish through those people.
For example, the Jews were targeted for extinction during World War II. Millions of Jews experienced unimaginable suffering as they were violated, tortured, and killed in the great Holocaust. Three years after World War II, God accomplished what seemed to be impossible by bringing the people of Israel back into their homeland and creating a nation in one day, on May 14, 1948.
“Who has ever heard of such a thing? And who ever sees such things? Can a country be born in a single day, or can a nation be brought forth in a single moment? Yet no sooner was Zion in labor than she delivered her children.”—Isaiah 66:8 (ISV)
With the Russian invasion of Ukraine, thousands of people are losing their homes, their jobs, their life savings, friends and family members, and their own lives as well. People are being violated, tortured, and killed with a cruelty that defies reason. The pain and the unjust loss are beyond description. This seems to be more than just a war to capture control of a country. This seems to be an unjust, oppressive attack with the goal of destroying anything and anyone that is Ukrainian.
Why is this happening? Will God redeem these overwhelming unjust losses?
Does Ukraine have a great purpose to accomplish in God’s plan?
Randy Strombeck, a leader with Ukraine’s Koinonia Ministries, expressed his belief to Rick Joyner that every life that is lost and goes into the ground as a result of this war is a seed that will yield a great harvest, just as the unjust death of Jesus yielded a great harvest for the Kingdom of God. (Joyner)
“I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains [just one grain; it never becomes more but lives] by itself alone. But if it dies, it produces many others and yields a rich harvest.”—John 12:24 (AMPC)
Ukraine is known as the “breadbasket of the world.” What is true for Ukraine already in the natural may prophetically symbolize the spiritual reality of this country. As many lives are being lost in Ukraine—Ukrainians and Russians—their lives may be the spiritual grains of wheat that fall into the ground to yield a great end-time harvest of souls.
Vision of the Harvest
Sherrie Holland, an intercessor with Streams Ministries, was given a vision that seemed to confirm that a great harvest will be reaped as a result of the sowing of thousands of lives now in Ukraine.
As she was interceding for Ukraine, she was shown a vision of the entire country of Ukraine as one giant field of wheat. Strolling casually through the field was Jesus Himself, but He was huge—much bigger than life-size. He was so large in the vision that He would be able to cross the entire country of Ukraine in only a few strides.
As Jesus was leisurely strolling through the giant harvest field that is Ukraine, He was plucking the ripe grains of wheat. He was reaping a bountiful harvest in Ukraine, and it was not hard labor.
Jesus was revealing Himself as the Lord of the Harvest. As an intercessor, Sherrie then knew that she was to pray, asking Jesus to send laborers into this harvest field, for they are ripe and ready!
This reflects what Randy Strombeck and others have said about the spiritual condition of Ukraine in this time of war. Salvations are happening in mass numbers, and they are happening very easily. It is not a long, hard struggle. People are readily receiving the good news of Jesus Christ and are placing their full faith and trust in Him. Lives are being transformed every day!
The Beginning of the Great Harvest
In a recent interview, Rick Joyner said that, “I think that what’s happening in Ukraine and Russia right now is setting the stage for what will be the greatest harvest in the Church Age. Now, that was the very first prophetic word that I ever received when I was a brand-new Christian.”
He went on to say that “the main thing that we are trying to do is to help build the net that can hold the catch that is coming in… . *Many *are coming to the Lord—I mean multitudes every day, including the Russian soldiers.” (Feucht)
The Russian Army of God
In April, 2004, Russ Porcella interviewed Bob Jones about what God had revealed to Bob about Russia and the former Soviet Union. (Porcella & Jones)
In powerful ways, God revealed to Bob in the early 1980s that He was going to bring great change to the Soviet Union and that the greatest awakening of all time would happen in countries that were then a part of the Soviet Union. God made it clear to Bob that He was calling churches to prepare for it—even at that time!
In his revelations, the Lord had revealed to Bob that the Communist rule would be a 70-year captivity, from 1919 to 1989, comparable to the 70-year Babylonian captivity of the people of Israel. During the Communist rule, the Gospel was severely restricted in the countries of the Soviet Union, but once the wall came down in 1989, Bob was assured that the door for the Gospel would never close again for the Russian people!
Then Bob received a visitation from an angel with great authority that Bob described as the Captain of the Hosts over Russia. Bob believed him to be an archangel because of his great authority. As this angel spoke with Bob, the Lord Jesus Christ Himself stood beside the angel, confirming his words.
This angel presented Bob with an invitation to join the Russian Army of God. The angel was not speaking of a physical army, but a spiritual army of God that would be used to bring one billion young people to the Lord. This will be the greatest awakening of all time, and it will take place among the Russian-speaking people. This spiritual army of Russian-speaking people will touch the entire world and make disciples of all nations. This angel assured Bob that some of the greatest evangelists that the world has ever seen would come out of Russia, and that Russia would send evangelists into the Muslim nations and even to the United States.
This is where God’s purpose for Ukraine becomes clearer. The Lord revealed to Bob that the first fires of this great awakening would begin in Ukraine.
Many things started in 1989 when the walls came down, releasing the Russian-speaking people from 70 years of captivity. Bob was told that this Russian Army of God is recruiting people now, and has been recruiting people since the 1980s. We who are in the West have a window of opportunity now to help support and equip those who will be instrumental in this greatest awakening of all time!
The Lord made it clear to Bob that there would be a huge awakening among the Russian-speaking youth. Once they understood how to use the gifts of the spirit in power evangelism, they would devote themselves to spreading the good news of Jesus Christ. Nothing would discourage them from this calling. Nothing would be able to stop them.
As a result of this revelation, Bob felt a clear call to begin to mentor people, especially young people, to learn to use the revelation gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Before the visitation ended, the angel over Russia told Bob that he would send information to Bob to confirm the things that he was saying. The next day, Bob received a written copy of Hudson’s Taylor’s prophecy about the greatest awakening of all time that would begin among the Russian-speaking people.
The Greatest Awakening The World Will Ever See!
The day after the angel over Russia visited Bob Jones, Bob received literature in the mail that detailed Hudson Taylor’s vision.
The vision occurred as Hudson Taylor, the great missionary pioneer and founder of the China Inland Mission, was speaking at a church in England while he was on furlough in 1855.
According to eyewitnesses, while he was preaching from the pulpit that Sunday morning, Hudson Taylor suddenly stopped. As people waited in silence, Taylor just stood there, staring ahead of him and not saying a word. Several minutes later he continued his sermon. People in the audience were not sure what to think of this long pause, but because Taylor was an old man at this time, some thought that maybe he just lost his train of thought.
Taylor continued his sermon, but after several minutes, the same thing happened. Taylor stopped speaking, and just stared ahead in silence for some time. When he finally continued speaking, Taylor explained that he had seen a vision. After seeing the vision the first time, Taylor had tried to continue his sermon, but when the vision was repeated to him a second time, he knew that it was from the Lord.
In this vision, Hudson Taylor saw World Wars I and II, and then he saw many other armed conflicts around the world. He also saw spiritual awakenings in different places.
Then the vision focused on Russia. Taylor saw a revolution that left the whole country covered in blood! He saw great suffering and famine. Then the focus of the vision changed again.
Hudson Taylor saw the heavens open. Then a fire came down from Heaven and spread all over Russia. Then he watched as the fire spread beyond the borders of Russia. Taylor understood that he was seeing the fire of the Holy Spirit that God was going to pour out upon all of Russia. Then the Gospel message of Jesus Christ would be spread all over the earth, even in the countries where people had never heard about the Jesus. This would bring about a great awakening in all the nations of the world!
After this worldwide awakening, Hudson Taylor saw the return of Jesus Christ!
Taylor summarized the vision for those in the audience:
“I have seen a vision. I saw in this vision a great war that encompasses the world. I saw this war recess and then start again, actually being two wars.
“After this I saw much unrest and revolts that will affect many nations. I saw in some places spiritual awakenings.
“In Russia, I saw there will come a general all-encompassing, national spiritual awakening so great that there could never be another like it. From Russia, I saw the awakening spread to many European countries. Then I saw an all-out awakening, followed by the coming of Christ.” (Taylor)
A Confirming Witness
Earl Nikolaevitch Poysti, a Russian immigrant to America, grew up hearing about Hudson Taylor’s vision of a great awakening among the Russian people. He had also read about it in Christian literature. As a minister himself, Poysti would sometimes share the vision with others and tell the story about how Hudson Taylor was interrupted twice during that sermon in the London church so many years ago.
But even though he shared the vision with others, Poysti had his doubts. He wondered if someone had just made up the whole story. Was it really true that Hudson Taylor had seen this vision in the London church where he was preaching?
In a 2000 edition of his magazine, “The Gospel Behind the Bars,” Poysti wrote,
“So in 1947 after my father and I finished our mission trip to Europe, we were on our way back to the states and we made a stop in London. We had an opportunity to visit a certain church over there and since my father was sick, I was asked to preach. I spoke about missions and mentioned that Hudson Taylor story though again it sounded like I wasn’t very confident about it. When the meeting was over I saw an old gentleman with a walking stick coming my way.
“He came up to me, shook my hand and said: ‘Thank you for telling that story about Hudson Taylor. That’s exactly how it happened. I was present at that meeting when he saw the vision!’
“Dear friends, as the Lord is revealing those things to us, it causes us to be thankful and also it shows that God is ready to pour out his grace in every corner of the world. He wants to show his great love to all the nations giving them the latter rain of his blessing. I deeply believe in this and I am a witness of this. God is smiling to our motherland!” (Poysti)
