The Destiny of the Bride of Christ - Part 14
Reign of Justice
Earth will be governed in perfect justice during the 1,000-year reign of Jesus Christ. Justice will no longer be twisted and perverted by deception, self-interest, and wrong motives. The government of Jesus Christ will be founded upon pure and true justice and righteousness.
The Bride of Christ will rule and reign alongside her king and will share the responsibility of restoring justice to the nations of the earth.
“Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Lovingkindness and truth go before You.”—Psalm 89:14 (AMP)
“Behold (listen closely), the days are coming,” says the Lord, “When I will raise up for David a righteous Branch; And He will reign as King and act wisely And will do [those things that accomplish] justice and righteousness in the land.
“In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name by which He will be called; ‘The Lord Our Righteousness.’”—Jeremiah 23:5-6 (AMP)
“Then a Shoot (the Messiah) will spring from the stock of Jesse [David’s father], And a Branch from his roots will bear fruit.
“And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him— The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and strength, The Spirit of knowledge and of the [reverential and obedient] fear of the Lord—
“And He will delight in the fear of the Lord, And He will not judge by what His eyes see, Nor make decisions by what His ears hear;
“But with righteousness and justice He will judge the poor, And decide with fairness for the downtrodden of the earth; And He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.
“And righteousness will be the belt around His loins, And faithfulness the belt around His waist.”—Isaiah 11:1-5 (AMP)
“For the law shall go forth out of Zion and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
“And He shall judge between many peoples and shall decide for strong nations afar off, and they shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
“But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree, and none shall make them afraid, for the mouth of the Lord of hosts has spoken it.
“For all the peoples [now] walk every man in the name of his god, but we will walk in the name of the Lord our God forever and ever.”—Micah 4:2-5 (AMPC)
“Listen to Me [the Lord], O My people, and give ear to Me, O My nation; for a [divine] law will go forth from Me, and I will establish My justice for a light to the peoples.
“My rightness and justice are near, My salvation is going forth, and My arms shall rule the peoples; the islands shall wait for and expect Me, and on My arm shall they trust and wait with hope.”—Isaiah 51:4-5 (AMPC)
Reign of Peace
Because perfect justice will reign during this time, earth will finally experience the peace that the multitude of the heavenly host proclaimed to the shepherds on the day of Jesus’ birth:
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”—Luke 2:14 (KJV)
Jesus’ reign will be marked as a reign of peace. Violence will be a thing of the past.
“I will make peace your leader and righteousness your ruler. Violence will disappear from your land; the desolation and destruction of war will end. Salvation will surround you like city walls, and praise will be on the lips of all who enter there.”—Isaiah 60:17 (NLT)
**“**People will live there, there will be no more destruction, and Jerusalem will be safely inhabited.”—Zechariah 14:11 (ISV)
The judgments that Jesus renders will cause all wars to end. There will be no more uses for weapons of war. Governments will find other uses for the money in their defense budgets. There will be no reason for any country to maintain military forces anymore.
“Then God will act as judge to end arguments between nations. He will decide what is right for people from many lands. They will stop using their weapons for war. They will hammer their swords into plows and use their spears to make tools for harvesting. All fighting between nations will end. They will never again train for war.”—Isaiah 2:4 (ERV)
It seems that this profound peace will even extend to the animals, eliminating violence and killing from all of God’s creation.
In the beginning, there were no meat eaters. That was not God’s original design. In His original design, God never planned for animals to be killed for food. It was only after the flood, in Genesis 9:3-6 that God allowed animals to be killed for food. All animals and mankind were originally designed to live on plant-based diets, as God explained to Adam in the very first chapter of the Bible:
God said, “I am giving you all the grain bearing plants and all the fruit trees. These trees make fruit with seeds in it. This grain and fruit will be your food. And I am giving all the green plants to the animals. These green plants will be their food. Every animal on earth, every bird in the air, and all the little things that crawl on the earth will eat that food.” And all these things happened.”—Genesis 1:29-30 (ERV)
Scripture tells us that when Jesus rules the earth, all creation will experience a restoration to peace and harmony in the ways of God and his original design. Violence will cease. Even the appetites and digestive systems will be restored to God’s original design so that carnivores become herbivores. Animals will no longer be killed for food. Animals that previously ate only meat will have new appetites for only plants. All creation will return to the ways of God and live according to His original design.
“Wolves and lambs will eat together. Lions will eat straw like oxen. Serpents will eat nothing but dust. None of those animals will harm or destroy anything or anyone on my holy mountain of Zion,” says the Lord.—Isaiah 65:25 (NIRV)
“Then wolves will live in peace with lambs. And leopards will lie down to rest with goats. Calves, lions and young bulls will eat together. And a little child will lead them. Cows and bears will eat together in peace. Their young will lie down together. Lions will eat hay as oxen do. A baby will be able to play near a cobra’s hole. A child will be able to put his hand into the nest of a poisonous snake. They will not hurt or destroy each other on all my holy mountain. The earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the sea is full of water.”—Isaiah 11:6-9 (ICB)
